Manifesto

Welcome to Virtual Renegades.

Who we are

We are a group of partners who believe that things can be done differently on the internet.  We believe there is a better way for the web to work, how e-commerce should work and how people do and should interact on the internet.  We do not believe that the current instantiation of the internet is correct.  We have ideas, big ideas, on how to change it and how to make it function FOR us instead of BY us.  We fully understand how these things currently work and are using that understanding to develop the core of our renegade system.  You won’t see what we’re actually working on for a long time.  But when you see it, you’ll immediately know it’s something very different, something very new and something very exciting!

Our ‘Renegade’ Manifesto

The Internet should be a tool that understands us.  It should bring information to us.  It should know our needs before we do.  It should understand us better than we do.  Everything is Data.  The Data is there – but it’s being ignored, destroyed and thrown out.  The Internet should be our servant.  When we need or want something from the Internet it should be right there waiting for us.

We reject the existing ideas and implementation of “Search”

We reject the existing ideas and implementation of “Social Networks”

We reject the existing ideas and implementation of “Web 2.0″

We reject the existing ideas and implementation of the Internet as a whole.

There is a wholly new creature waiting to be birthed that will completely displace the current notion of the Internet.  That incarnation has been conceived and is being developed.  When it is born it will destroy its predecessor without effort. There are many pieces of this new version active on the Internet today.

We, and many others like us, dedicate our time, knowledge and resources to developing this new incarnation.

This is our Manifesto.  We invite you to join us.

Defining ‘Virtual Renegades’

A Renegade does something different, he walks a different path than the status quo, he sees and understands things differently.

A Virtual Renegade does this in ‘Virtual’ space – or on the internet.

The Paradox

While we reject most of the notion of the current internet, it will still take many years to create what we envision for the next version.  While we are developing our research you will find us using conventional techniques on the ‘net to run our business.  We understand this is a paradox and we accept it.
